The SBS drama ‘Iljimae’ where Lee Jun Ki appeared as the main character Iljimae received good ratings and it’s to be produced as an animation this coming March.

An SBS affiliate met the reporter on the 6th and said “Drama ‘Iljimae’ will be made into an animation and it will air this coming March” and revealed “The scenario is already completed and right now, we’re in the process of making the Conte”.

According to this affiliate, the animation ‘Iljimae’ will follow the motif of drama ‘Iljimae’. These motifs include ‘moral thief’, ‘arrow scenes’, and ‘stories that convey korean-japanese-chinese culture’. The animation will have 26 episodes, each episode containing 30 minutes. The Green Snake Media that produced the drama ‘Iljimae’ and SBS will both contribute to this project.

The affiliate of the animation ‘Iljimae’ stated that “the moral thief character from the drama ‘Ilijmae’ is identical” and added “while the drama targets people from all ages, this animation ‘Ilijmae’ will mainly target teenagers so the love stories will be kind of different”.

It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not Lee Jun Ki will participate as the voice actor.

Turning a drama into an animation is the second time after the remake of the MBC drama ‘Dae Jang Geum’ to an animation ‘Jang Geum’s dream’. SBS and Green Snake Media are planning to target Japan and China with this animation ‘Iljimae’.

Lee Jun Ki, Song Yoon Ah, and Kim Ha Neul won the top excellence acting awards in the ‘2008 Grand Acting Awards’.

On the 31st, the SBS awards ceremony took place at Seoul Deung-chon-dong SBS hall starting from 9:50PM and Iljimae’s Lee Jun Ki and On Air’s Song Yoon Ah and Kim Ha Neul received the top excellence awards.

Through ‘Iljimae’, Lee Jun Ki showed his contracting acts of naughty Yongi and heroic Iljimae. Lee Jun Ki did a great job in expressing the optimistic Yongi and the character Iljimae who hides the vengeance of his father’s death. This lead to Iljimae’s viewing rate of 30%.

In many movies and dramas, Kim Ha Neul showed innocent and happy characters but she was able to perfectly change into an arrogant and a fashionable topstar and brought forth the ‘Oh Seung Ah’ syndrome. Through ‘On Air’, Kim Ha Neul was able to overcome her acting barrier and became more popular as this year’s best fashion icon.

Through ‘On Air’, Song Yoon Ah took the role of Suh Young Eun as a stubborn but lovable star scriptwriter. Although in the beginning, people talked about her overacts in the drama, she was able to completely turn the character into herself and became popular. Also, ‘On Air’ had successful viewing rates of 20% so it overturned the successive drama and movie failures.

Iljimae Solo Stage!

4 01 2009

He didn’t receive the grand acting award. However, it’s not an exaggeration to say that the ‘2008 SBS Grand Acting Awards Ceremony’ was Lee Jun Ki’s solo stage.

The ‘2008 SBS Grand Acting Awards’ took place on the 31st at Seoul Deung-chon-dong SBS hall. It was a festival for the stars who’ve brightened SBS dramas this year.

The ‘Grand Acting Awards’ was opened by ‘Iljimae’s’ main character Lee Jun Ki, who brought forth the 2008 ‘hero syndrome’. While the drums and gayageum (Note: Korean traditional string instrument) were playing, Lee Jun Ki came on stage saying that he has the paper with the grand award winner’s name written on it.

He said “I don’t want the closing to come right after the opening. (Grand Award) You’re curious right? I’m also very curious but they didn’t tell me” and added “If you’re with us till the end, you’ll be able to meet the honorable winner” and let the others know the beginning of the ‘Grand Acting Award’ ceremony.

His doings shined in the gag corner where his talents proved that he can be a comedian himself. Lee Jun Ki presented a unique stage where he parodied Ootchatssa’s popular corner ‘Woongie Father’ with Lee Mun Shik and Lee Jong Won.

In ‘Woongie Father’, he took the role of woongie and it seemed like the comedian who plays the actual character woongie came on stage. His performance surprised the audience. Lee Jun Ki’s movements and words made people burst into laughter.

Even before he received his awards, he had to go up on stage twice. It’s not only that. Lee Jun Ki won three awards that day and became popular for being the most active in the awards ceremony.

On this day, Lee Jun Ki won the top 10 award, netizen most popular award, and top excellence award.

Lee Jun Ki said “I thought about what it would be like to get good ratings and receive a big award and after receiving it (award), I feel really good” and added “I’m thankful for Iljimae’s Lee Yong Suk PD and staffs for always make me fly and crawl”.

As an actor, of course they can be greedy towards the grand award. However, it will be remembered that Lee Jun Ki was the most active actor in this awards ceremony.
