The candidates for the Grand Acting Award in the 3 different broadcasting companies are receiving people’s attentions.

In each of the broadcasting companies, the candidates are quite dazzling. In some cases, the title of the drama and the character matches perfectly and some of the other important individuals in the drama are roasting up a hot attention this end of year. Most of the time, the viewing rates were exceptionally high during the airing of the drama so each of the main characters received a lot of attention to begin with.

Especially, through MBC ‘Time between dog and wolf’, Lee Jun Ki who showed off his great acting skills last year did really well in this year’s SBS ‘Iljimae’, solidifying his presence during the drama airing time. Currently, Kim Bum Soo, Kim Ha Neul, Park Yong Ha, Song Yoon Ah, etc. from ‘On Air’, Oh Hyun Kyung from ‘Wife club’, Park Shin Yang and Mun Geun Young from ‘Painter of the Wind’ etc. These strong candidates are all competing for the award.

The reason why Lee Jun Ki stands out is because he is in good terms due to the high viewing rates and his acting skills. ‘Iljimae’ was a hero drama, which wasn’t a trend back then, but he still managed to receive viewing rates higher than 30%. Most of the actors and actresses in the drama turned their honor to Lee Jun Ki for the drama’s success after the drama has ended.

Title-roll refers to an actor/actress who has helped at least halfway of the making the drama with just the main character’s strength. Similar to Lee Jun Ki case, in the MBC weekend drama ‘Invincible Park Jung Geum’, there’s Bae Jong Ok. In the SBS drama ‘My man’s girl’, the three characters participated in their role evenly whereas in the ‘Invincible Park Jung Geum’, it’s special that the drama was aired with mostly the main character’s strength.

Not only upgrading the recessing MBC weekend drama, the drama also was thought of as a title-role. Due to this, Bae Jong Ok, Kim Sun Ah, Lee Mi Sook, Choi Jin Sil was all nominated for the Best Acting award. Moreover, they might even look over the Grand Acting Award with 7 additional candidates.

On the other hand, the KBS Grand Acting Award is planned to have a warm atmosphere with the harmony of the old and the new. In this year Best Acting award, the 4 experienced actors/actresses are included as the candidates Lee Soon Jae, Baek Il Sup, Kim Hae Ja, Jang Mi Hee from the ‘My mom’s angry’ as well as Kim Myung Kil from ‘King Sae-Jong’. These are rather young actors/actresses Kim Sang Kyung, Kang Ji Hwan, Song Il Gook, Kim Ji Soo.

The main character from ‘My mom’s angry’, Kim Hae Ja is a strong candidate as the Grand Prize Award despite her position as an experienced actress. This is also due to the drama’s title-role as ‘Mom’. This drama had the highest rating this year due to the all the actors/actresses efforts and Kim Hae Ja’s role in this drama was huge.

Anyways, Lee Jun Ki, Bae Jong Ok, and Kim Hae Ja, the three main characters in each of the broadcasting companies are spending an anxious holiday.

Lee Jun Ki’s Hairstyles

The young lad sizzled with his new sharp hair cut as he walked up the stage to collect the Popular Award. Rubbing shoulders with the heavyweights like Kim Tae Hee, Lee Bum Su and Han Yeh-Seul, Lee Jun Ki now, is surely a name in the Korean film industry, and beyond. The boy from South Asia has become one of the most popular faces on the bloc, mesmerizing his South Asian fans with his girlish charm and sleek locks!

A Piscean, Lee Jun Ki (Lee Joon Gi) was born on April 17, 1982, in Busan. Lee kick started his carrier as a model, and was first seen on TV in 2001 in the commercial for the ‘So Basic’ fashion label. His first encounter with stage happened as a teenager in Nan Eotteokhae, a KBS drama city series. This was soon followed by a minor role in Star’s Echo. But it was the movie Man of the King, which brought him his much awaited recognition and fame. The popularity of this acting prodigy has never waned since then, with his latest venture, Fly Daddy Fly grabbing worldwide media attention and critical acclaim.

Lee Jun Ki’s acting prowess, his hairstyle has been the talk of the town, especially among his unending female fan following. While his jet black, flat, neatly parted and combed hair during his school days reflected his innocence and simplicity, his hair underwent a sea-change as soon as his potential for acting and modeling was acclaimed. His messy, shaggy hairdo became a rage, inside and outside Korea as well as in other South Asian countries. The immense popularity of Lee could also be credited to the Pepsi ad in which he streaked his hair blue. The long, messy, blue-streaked tresses became the in-thong of the season. Lee has also colored his hair copper often, giving it an outrageous tinge.

The recent hairdo of Lee Jun Ki however, has been a departure from the past. The new short and spiky hairdo gives him a more manly somberness making him eligible to act even in matured roles. The jet black color adds a masculine touch to the juvenile and ‘almost feminine’ face of Lee Jun Ki.

Probably, this hairstyle marks the beginning of Lee Jun Ki’s journey towards stardom, fame and recognition he is about to achieve in the upcoming years!

Lee Jun Ki Donates CF Earnings

5 12 2008
Lee Junki (Iljimae) is donating 100 million won (about $70,000) on behalf of disadvantaged youths.

The popular actor’s contribution goes to Korea Youth Protection Association’s Happy Community Children Center. A representative from the association expressed their appreciation, saying, “I was moved to see Lee Junki inquiring about and taking an interest in the children’s center.”

Lee went to the center on December 4 to deliver the funds in person. According to his reps, he had told them previously of his intent to donate his earnings from his last CF to an outreach organization.

The center serves poor and working-class children in the community by teaching them English (or Korean to the children of foreign laborers), math, and other academic subjects for free. It’s the giving season, and despite the current slump in the Korean entertainment industry (and, well, worldwide).
