Goo Hye Sun was involved in a minor car accident today, when she and crew members were traveling in between sets for “Boys Over Flowers.” Her manager has stated that the accident is minor and that Goo Hye Sun has gotten checked out at the hospital and is awaiting results from her tests.
Minor or not, concern has been raised at the alarming number of car accidents that the cast has gotten into. Kim Hyun Joong has been in one accident, Kim Joon in one, and Kim Bum in two. Kim Bum’s leg is still currently healing and “Boys Over Flowers” scenes involving him have mostly shot been shot from waist up.
Goo Hye Sun recently revealed in her appearance on “Happy Together“ that she has still not received treatment for a concussion she got while filming for a film scene, due to tight scheduling.
This is borderline crazy because at this point, both the leads — Goo Hye Sun and Lee Minho — are nursing colds and not getting rest, 80% of the main cast has gotten into accidents, and episodes are being filmed the weekend before they are set to air. “Boys Over Flowers” knows no boundaries! When will they learn?

Group eight is really one word – lousy.
Actor Kim Myung Min has defeated other nominees such as Lee Joon Ki to win the grand award for the 2008 Korean Drama Festival Award based on his role in MBC’s “Beethoven Virus”. This festival award is a joint collaboration between KBS, SBS, MBC and the various cable TV stations in South Korea. There are a total of 54 dramas participating in this drama festival, all of which were aired between 01/10/2007 to 30/09/2008.
On the 30th October, the committee held a press conference in Seoul to announce the winners of this year’s festival award. The chairman of the committee Lee Soon Jae, also a renown veteran actor said: “We had quite a headache deciding whether to give this award to an actor/actress or a drama. However, in the end we have decided to give it to Kim Myung Min.”
The Best Drama Award goes to KBS’s “Angry Mom” while Choi Soo Jong of “Dae Jo Yeong” and Kim Ha Neul of “On Air” wins the Outstanding Actor and Outstanding Actress award respectively. The acting excellence for men and women category goes to Kim Rae Won of “Gourmet” and Han Ji Hye of “I Hate You, But It’s Fine”.
A new “Korean Fever” award (sort of like the iconic figure in Korean pop culture or one who actively promotes Korean pop culture to other countries) will be presented for the first time this year and Bae Yong Joon is slated to receive this award. Kim Hye Sun of SBS’s “First Wives’ Club” is given the Special Award by the committee while Baek Il Sub of “Angry Mom” won the Achievement Award.
As for the Popularity Awards, they are won by Im Yoon Ah of “You Are My Destiny” (KBS), Kim Bum of “East of Eden” (MBC), Kim Hee Jeong of “First Wives’ Club” (SBS) and Kim Hyun Sook of “Rude Miss Young Ae” (TVN).
The theme of this year’s Korean Drama Festival is “The Past, Present and Future of Asian Television Dramas” and will be held from the 1st of November to the 6th. Congratulations to all winners!
